1. Expanded Institutional Partnerships
I’ll strengthen ties post-secondary institutions and Filipino student associations to create more academic, leadership, mentorship and collaboration opportunities for youth.
2. Expanding Private Sector Partnerships
Together with the finance team, I’ll engage companies across industries to secure funding, increasing Kabangka’s capacity for more events, scholarships, and career readiness initiatives.
3. Achieving Charitable Status
Securing charitable status will unlock access to government grants and additional donor support.
4. 5-Year Strategic Plan
I’ll lead the creation of a community-driven 5-year plan to ensure the sustainability our our organization.
5. Amplifying Kabangka Through Media & Public Engagement
We’ll grow our national profile through a strong media strategy that highlights our milestones and impact in the community.

2. Make a sustainable database of Kabangka’s community contacts to help foster current and new relations, to provide an overview of Kabangka’s successes, and to inform future outreach initiatives.

1. Create regional teams for various regions in Canada to ensure proper representation of Kabangka members across the nation-state of Canada.

3. Build stronger relationships with many different sectors of industry from public, private, non-profit and grassroots to diversify opportunities for partnerships.

As your Leadership and Learning candidate, I want to curate what YOU want. This is what I hope to accomplish if elected to this role:
1. Consult with Kabangka members to inform the offerings for Leadership and Learning for the 2025-2026 year.
How: Host informal brainstorming sessions and/or create a survey for Kabangka members and Kabangka mentorship mentees to identify what skills or topics they want to explore.
2. Collaborate with Kabangka’s network of professionals to promote their skills and organizations.
How: Continue to build relationships with previous POP speakers, panelists, workshop facilitators, and Kabangka mentors to identify opportunities for collaboration.
3. Create a safe space for Kabangka and Program Executive teams to discuss mental health, applying an anti-oppressive and decolonizing lens. By holding this dialogue, team members can identify areas they would like to learn more about or resources they need to feel supported during the year.
How: Connect with existing Filipino mental health professionals or advocates to shape this workshop and dialogue.

I am committed to strengthening and expanding our mentorship program by:
1. Strengthening Connections: Building on my experience with mentor/mentee pairings and networking events, I will ensure that connections are meaningful and purposeful, creating opportunities for both personal and professional growth.
2. Ongoing Support and Training: I will continue to organize workshops and resources to help mentors and mentees navigate their relationships effectively, providing tools for success and development.

For our otso-otso year, my platform is simple: to carry the torch with care, nurture what’s been planted by the leaders and teams before us, build new and strengthen existing partnerships, reflect on past years to keep enhancing the experience for our community and our team, and wholeheartedly support this conference so it continues to be a space that’s empowering, memorable, and created alongside all of you.

As Director of Workshops I hope to empower others and provide a safe space for them to explore their Filipino heritage and culture. As Director of Workshops I will:
- collaborate with workshop facilitators to create inclusive content that accounts for varying degrees of knowledge
- ensure diverse and inclusive representation of the Filipino diaspora,
- curate workshops that explore Filipino identity from varying perspectives (ie. people who have explored their heritage later in life, those who grew up immersed in the culture, people who are of multi-ethnic backgrounds)
- ensure that workshops maintain inclusive dialogue that allows for delegates to maximize their learning and build further understanding!
- include workshops centred around personal and professional development lead by Filipinx experience in those areas

I decided to run for Director of Speakers because I want to ensure that young Filipino-Canadians can continue to have an open, empowering, and fun knowledge-sharing and dialogues at POP. I will do this by:
- Diversifying speaker lineups (ensure that speakers represent different elements of Filipino culture, and as many geographic, sexual orientation, political, professional, and/or academic backgrounds as possible)
- Improving speaker engagement and participant interaction (designate dedicated Q&A time during panels, keynote, and other speaker events)
- Booking a more conducive space for panel discussions and dialogue exchange
- Introducing new formats (explore new speaker formats such as firesides, PechaKucha, etc.)
