Alfonso Ralph Medina Manalo

Alfonso is currently a fourth-year student at the University of Toronto Scarborough double majoring in (Co-op) Public Policy and Global Asia Studies and minoring in Critical Migration Studies. He is experienced in providing administrative services, policy and program analyses and evaluation, briefings, qualitative research, and excellent inter-personal and inter-cultural awareness to non-for-profits, academic institutions, and the federal government.

He is primarily interested in the social implications and economic economic experiences of racialized diasporas encounter; particularly the Filipinx diaspora and their experiences in North America. Aside from this, Alfonso is also interested in the study of Southeast Asia, and subsequently ASEAN as a growing political and economic entity and its histories, social policies, social inequality, queer studies, corruption, trafficking and labour exploitation, government relations, public administration and governance, and the effect of rhetoric and narratives in the policymaking process.
