Jon Reyes
Jon Reyes is a Canadian provincial politician, who was re-elected as the Member of the Legislative Assembly of Manitoba for the new constituency of Waverley In the 2019 election. He is a member of the Progressive Conservative Party of Manitoba and was first elected in 2016 as the MLA for St. Norbert. He is the first Canadian born candidate of Filipino descent elected as a Member of the Legislative Assembly in Manitoba. Reyes was appointed as the Special Envoy for Military Affairs (SEMA) by Premier Brian Pallister, on May 3, 2016 and remains in that role.
Jon also currently serves as the President of the Manitoba Branch of the Assemblée parlementaire de la Francophonie.
Prior to entering politics, Jon served with the Canadian Forces for 10 years and then obtained a business degree from Royal Roads University in Victoria, British Columbia. Along with his wife Cynthia, they ran two successful small businesses from 2002 -2018. Jon was also the founder and past president of the Manitoba Filipino Business Council.
Jon & Cynthia have been happily married since 2000. They are the proud parents of their 2 children Reyna and Miguel.
