Pinoys on Parliament 2023: Panels and Speakers
Julius Chester
Julius was involved in student governance for the majority of my studies at the University of Manitoba, where he served as the president of my faculty’s student body council from 2018-19, and held the position of Board Director for Arts at the University of Manitoba Student Union (UMSU) in 2017-18 and again in 2019-20. Julius entered the world of student politics to serve his fellow students, help build a sense of community on campus and advocate for them on the issues that matter most. He then graduated with an Advanced Degree in political studies in 2020 and immediately began working in political organizing, research, and now for the student movement with the Canadian Federation of Students!
"My time at the UofM and working in the community has taught me the importance of advocacy work and mobilization and just how imperative it is to achieve wins as a collective. I’m a self-proclaimed funny guy who sometimes can’t help but laugh at his own jokes. I hope to pursue further education in public administration with the eventual goal of advising community and advocacy groups on the political and governmental processes so they can easily navigate legislative spaces."
