Pinoys on Parliament 2021: Panels and Speakers

Karla Atanacio is a policy assistant, community organizer, and writer who lives in Winnipeg, Manitoba. A 1.5 generation Filipino-Canadian immigrant, Karla preserves Filipino culture through her work as the Cultural Affairs Director at the Filipino Canadian Students’ Association (FILCASA) and the Human Resources Director of Aksyon Ng Ating Kabataan (ANAK) Inc. She was a cabinet minister at Youth Parliament of Manitoba and now engages in a range of policy issues in her work as a Program and Policy Assistant with the Government of Manitoba. She leads the Young Liberals of Canada-Manitoba’s engagement strategy and advocates for students as a Student Life Ambassador with the University of Winnipeg Student Association. 

Karla is currently in her 2nd year of International Development Studies at the University of Winnipeg.
