Lhori Webster
Lhori Webster is a Filipina-Canadian from Kelowna, B.C., who is passionate about civic engagement and politics.
She works for Canada's Minister of Health as a Policy Advisor. Lhori has worked in politics and the federal government in a variety of positions including on the Liberal Party of Canada’s Central Campaign in the 2019 Federal Election, and as a Special Assistant at the Liberal Research Bureau. While enrolled at the University of Ottawa she worked as an Analyst on the Cannabis Legalization and Regulation Secretariat. Lhori graduated from the University of Ottawa in 2019 where she studied political science and communications.
In 2019 she and the team at the Filipino Students Association at the University of Ottawa established the first Pinoys on Parliament Conference in Ottawa, Ontario where they welcomed more than 150 people to Canada’s capital for the first national youth conference for Filipino-Canadian youth, by Filipino-Canadian youth. As well as being active in the Filipino community through organizing and cultural exchange she remains active in other community groups as well, such as Rotary International.
She is the 2019 recipient of the Golden Balangay Kubo Young Leader Award, the 2018 Senator Tobias C. Enverga Medal of Excellence, and the Deputy Minister of Health Canada’s Awards for Excellence and Leadership. In her free time she likes to hike, ski, bake, and talk about BC.
