Conference Overview
-
Pinoys on Parliament (POP), a National Youth Leadership Conference is the first and largest national youth leadership conference for Filipino/a/x-Canadian youth, by Filipino/a/x-Canadian youth.
POP takes place annually in Ottawa, Ontario. Read about Our Story to learn more about how POP got its start.

16 to 30 years old
-
POP 2025 has 250 delegate spaces available. We are allocating enough spaces to ensure that delegates from each province and territory have equal opportunity to attend.
-
If you are interested in attending but no spots are available you may add your name to the waitlist. In the case that a delegate foregoes their ticket a member of the POP team will reach out to the first person on the waitlist to offer them the ticket. Individuals on the waitlist will have 36 hours to accept or decline the ticket before it is offered to the next individual on the list.

Expect Ottawa in February to be cold! Make sure to bring your warmest parka, toque/hat, mitts, snow boots, and skates (if you want to skate!).
Conference attire itself will be a mix of smart-casual and business-casual, dependent on the event. Please do not hesitate to contact our team (via email or Instagram DM) if you have any questions about this.
If you would like to wear traditional attire (barongs, filipiñanas, etc.), we more than encourage you to do so! Annually, many delegates wear their traditional attire throughout the conference, especially the Welcome Gala on the first night.
-
Dinner will be served during the Gala on the first night of the conference. This year, lunch on Saturday, as well as breakfast and lunch on Sunday will be provided. There will also be some light snacks and drinks on Saturday’s Social Night!
There are also plenty of places to eat in downtown Ottawa (where the conference will be taking place), including the Rideau Centre and the Byward Market.
Travel and Accommodations
-
If the parent or guardian and participant agree that it would be a good idea then yes! However, we cannot guarantee extra accommodation or travel compensation.
-
We understand that the costs and modes of transportation can be expensive and may prevent people from attending. To help with this problem we are working with various modes of transport, and different businesses for discount codes to help you save on your trip to Ottawa!
We will send an update and more information about travel and accommodation once the details are confirmed.
-
Accommodations are not included in registration but there are many affordable options in Ottawa. Hotels.com and Expedia.ca offer promotions for accommodations. Les Suites Hotel Ottawa and the Delta Hotel City Centre Ottawa have also provided discount codes available for registered delegates.
If you are traveling as a group, Airbnb has a lot of good options as well. We recommend looking for accommodation in downtown Ottawa. Neighborhoods in the city that are closest to the event venues are:
Byward Market, Centretown, The Glebe, and Sandy Hill

How Can I Get Involved?
-
Although POP 2025 is a free event, we understand that the cost of travel and other accommodations may create a barrier for delegates to attend. That is why we recommend undergraduates refer to their student unions and ask about the funding opportunities available for students attending conferences (yes, these exist!).
However, if you are still in need of financial assistance, please reach out to our team if you would like to discuss food, travel, and hotel accommodations, or how you can reach out to your student union!
-
Announcements for next year's executive and committee applications will be posted on our website and social media accounts next year. Stay tuned!
